Flour Totes

This is the bag that started it all. Our social venture was conceived when we learned that each bag of flour used in our bakery initiatives in Rwanda produced 700 pieces of bread. For many children who receive this bread at no cost, it will be their only source of food for the day. How could we use this information—and this flour sack—for a greater good? We decided to retrofit the bags with African batik fabrics and a handsome leather strap and sell them so that others could participate in this movement and this mission. When you buy one of our flour totes, “you just fed 700 people.” Profits purchase more flour, and ultimately build more bakeries to feed more people.

In this version, the flour sack serves as the lining, with the African batik fabric used on the outside.
